It may help to know that the theme was "Guilty Pleasure Skate Party". Justin falls under the "guilty pleasure" part. The skating part took place here:
I love this place! It's totally old school, which it accomplishes mostly by being totally old. The building and decor cannot be pinned to a specific decade. The architecture is 60s. The textiles are 70s. The colors are 80s. There is absolutely no ventilation to speak of, so plan to sweat.
In addition to the perspiration and the assault on your visual senses, here are some other things you could have planned on...
Expect to have sported roller skates, naturally.
Expect an awesomely bad playlist.
Requests were taken ahead of time, a playlist was compiled. Expect the final product to have blown your guilty-pleasure-loving mind.
Expect to have had a photo op with a giant cut-out of Barry Manilow's head. Upon posting this, I wondered if I should qualify the photo with a "this made more sense at the time"... but even now, two months later, offering my guests the chance to pose with a giant cut-out of Barry Manilow's head makes perfect (and awesome) sense to me.
Expect to have eaten a lot of cupcakes.
Expect to have had the chance to answer some playlist-related trivia questions about me. (Expect to see the winning questionnaire here.)
Expect to have done a little roller-limbo.
Expect to have been missed if you weren't in attendance.
Expect that I'm curious to know what you would added to the playlist?

Did you end up telling me what the mystery song was? I can't remember. We need to skate at Crystal Palace next time you guys visit. It's so retro it makes that place look new. You look fabulous in the pics, by the way. I SO wish I could have been there!
It was a blast!! Totally worth the drive ;)
SO MUCH FUN!!!!!
